Garland ISD superintendent Ricardo López addressed the Texas Senate Committee on Education and learning on Friday, advocating for the continued whole funding of Texas Household Bill 3.

Along with other educators, superintendents, instruction advocates and coverage makers, López discussed the $11.6 billion finance monthly bill that greater per-student funding for Texas educational institutions and furnished funds to increase trainer payment, amid other aims.

HB 3 was handed by the Texas legislature and ratified by Governor Greg Abbott in 2019.

The Garland ISD superintendent explained HB3 as a “transformative and historic college finance bill,” indicating the bill has experienced a beneficial affect on his school district, where by 75% of the students are economically deprived and additional than half are Latino.
